Medical Assistant (Float - Front & Back Office)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour (DOE)
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and flexible Medical Assistant (Float) to support both front office and back office operations across our medical clinics. This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a variety of clinical settings while providing excellent patient care and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
Front Office Duties
- Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experience
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage calendars
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Process check-ins/check-outs and collect copays
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Back Office Duties
- Room patients and record vital signs
- Assist providers with exams and procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure proper sanitation
- Administer injections and perform basic clinical tasks (within scope)
- Document patient information in electronic medical records (EMR)
Float Responsibilities
- Travel to support different clinic locations, including Hanford at least once per week
- Adapt quickly to different teams, workflows, and provider preferences
- Provide coverage for staff absences and high-volume days
Qualifications
- 1+ year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (preferred but not required)
- Experience with both front and back office duties
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to Hanford once a week
- Bilingual: Spanish required
